Strength Finder

To begin my leadership journey, I first learned who I am as a leader, precisely learning about my core values and strengths. To identify my strengths, I took the Clifton Strengths Finder Assessment and discovered that my more considerable strengths are futuristic, relator, analytical, consistency, and competition. I was not surprised with these results because they coincide nicely with my personality and how I live and interact with others.

My Leadership Experince

So what?

I realized that my strengths align with my leadership values because I value vision, empathy, respect, consistency, and resilience. After learning about my strengths, I focused on using them in my everyday life and tying them to my leadership values. For example, my futurism helps me keep my enthusiasm and focus on my priorities and long-term goals every day. So, when I work with my team or alone, I always put all of my energy into getting the work done. Also, as a realtor, I enjoy close relationships with others. I find deep satisfaction in working hard with friends to achieve a goal. As an analytical person, I search for reasons and causes. I think about all of the factors that might affect a situation. Another strength I use while working with others is consistency. I am keenly aware of the need to treat people the same. I crave stable routines and clear rules and procedures that everyone can follow. However, I also have some weaknesses that I should focus on to become the leader I want to be. One of my weaknesses is the ability to make a decision quickly. I always analyze and assess the situation before making an important decision. I believe that leaders should be able to make quick and rational decisions.

Now what?

When I learned what my weakness was, I could overcome it and make it my strength. Precisely, I put myself into a situation when I had to make quick decisions. For example, I have been investing in the stock market for the past two years, where I had to execute the trade at the right time to acquire the stock share at the best price. Investing experience helped me to learn how to pull the trigger and make prompt decisions. It matters to me as a leader because, in my current workplace, where I work with people, I have to analyze the problem or situation and make a quick decision. Even though I was successful in overcoming my weakness, there is always room to improve. Therefore, I'll keep putting myself in a situation where I have to be decisive to get quicker in decision making.
